What is the foundation of prefabricated houses?

The foundation of the prefabricated houses is in the general case monolithic and made of reinforced concrete. The depth of foundations in the construction of prefabricated houses is determined  by  the  construction  design  and the  characteristics  of  the  terrain  after observing the condition that the elevation of foundation should be under the freezing line of the soil. It is possible to set the baseline in such a way that there could be space for a basement. The established standards for thermal insulation and waterproofing are observed in all types of foundations. Any infiltration of cold and moisture from the concrete is eliminated. This allows laying of the final floor covering immediately after the assembly of the house and the completion of the finishing work.

Stages of constructing the foundations:

1. On the first day, the geometry of the foundation  is  determined  and  trenches  are dug up. They are prepared for filling with concrete  with  the  placing  of  the  framework and  the  laying  of  the necessary reinforcement.

2. On the second day, gravel is supplied and it acts as a drainage and concrete pad. The gravel is levelled, vibrated and tamped.

3. On the third day, the concrete is poured. All levels of terraces and wet premises for which floor drains are designed are set in advance so that the concrete can be levelled in such a way as to be ready for laying tiles, laminates and other finishing materials. Thus the need of cement is avoided. The locations of the necessary installation holes are defined in advance.

Stripping is accomplished when the concrete obtains the necessary strength and all procedures are completed. If the project does not envisage  space for a basement, the stripping takes place after 7 to 10 days.
